GAME PLAN: DAY TWELVE

Overview:

-Team Time discussion of The Wave with the movie -vs- the text

Objectives:

-to critically examine and evaluate the movie The Wave -vs- the text

-to ask students to analyze how the directors vision made the movie's messages persuasive

-to utilize and further develop the media literacy skills of students

Rationale:

It is in our interest to help our students utilize and further develop their media literacy skills in the classroom. This seems to be the best opportunity for us to fulfill this goal. By comparing and contrasting the movie with the text, students will be able to see the way an author's or director's perspective is portrayed to make their meaning of the novel or movie become a dominant ideology for the audience. Once again, by creating a sense of awareness within our students, we hope that with the information and knowledge they have gained they will begin to question the dominant ideology that is apparant in our society.

Resources:

-playbooks
