GAME PLAN: DAY FOURTEEN
Overview:
-class time for groups to work on their newspaper sections
Objectives:
-to allow students to work on their group communication skills and teamwork skills
-to encourage students to utilize time effectively and efficiently
Rationale:
The newspaper project is one that encourages and demands that the entire class work together in a collaborative effort. By allowing the students class time to work on the projects, students will be able to demonstrate communication skills and creative collaborative activity.
Resources:
-playbooks
-school supplies (glue, scissors, construction paper, posterboard, markers, crayons, etc.)
Layout and Activities:
-pre-game warm-up: Where are you currently at in your newspaper? What do you need to do today to ensure that the class paper will be ready for publication on Day 15? (5 min)
-class time to work on newspapers (35 min)
-wrap-up (5 min)
-clean up
Practice on your own:
Students should be prepared to share their newspaper sections with the class. Each group will get fifteen minutes to present. The newspaper may be utilized as part of your portfolio experience.
