Overview:
-Literature Circles within Team Huddles
Objectives:
-to give students the opportunity to experience The Wave through different roles
-to create a learning environment where everyone is given a chance to participate and build off one another
-to utilize student-centered learning by making it a priority in the classroom
Rationale:
With Literature Circles two important aspects of education come together--independent reading and cooperative learning; we believe that this structure empowers the students and allows them to become an active participant in their learning process. Because Literature Circles are student-generated, they also provide students with the opportunity to practice their communication skills and group dynamics.
