GOALS/OBJECTIVES

*To provide an introduction to William Shakespeare and the Elizabethan time period.

*To explore the wide variety of completed works of Shakespeare.

*To broaden awareness of world events during Shakespeare's life.

*To inform students about Elizabethan drama.

*Most importantly, to inspire and encourage the students to value the art of Shakespeare.

ACTIVITIES

*Renaissance music representative of the time period of Shakespeare will be playing as students enter the classroom.

*Introductory lecture of Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Era.

*Distribution and discussion of the following handouts: H-1­H-5

*A brief video of the Biography of William Shakespeare.
