Night holds mysteries
Like day holds light
Wind and movement against the full moon
Bend my courage

Padding on the earthen roof
Sand sifts upon the floor
Barking ends in painful yelps
In the gleam of the bright night
Mystery moves

Youth fragile in fright
Huddle under blankets
Boldness of the day
Gone with the light
Some say I'm fighting night's comfort
Some say night mimics day
Nothing bad
Nothing secret

I say night holds mysteries like day holds light
Sounds still expected, movements now still
It threatens my hearth

Sounds pounding from within
Threaten my spirit
More than the sounds upon the earthen roof
