Hey y'all, My name is Ponyboy and yes, that is my real name. I'm 14 and a

greaser. A greaser is almost like a hood. People think we are dirty and

poorer than everybody else, but we're just a group of boys from the East

side of town who stick together. Our only enemies are the Socs. Socs are

rich kids who live on the West side. I have two brothers Darry and Sodapop.

My parents died about 6 months ago. I was walkin' home from the movies

today and these Socs jumped me, but I was lucky cause the gang came along

and saved me. I gotta go, Dally and Johnny are waitin' for me to meet them.
