Meet Your Web Page Designer, William Garcia

William has worked for the Puerto Rico Department of Education since 1980. He taught primarily at the junior high school level until 1987, and for the following seven years he supervised the English as a Second Language Program for the San Juan I School District. He has taught ESL courses at both the University of Puerto Rico (Rio Piedras Campus) and at Inter American University (Metropolitan Campus). He has a Masters of Arts Degree from New York University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. as a Title VII (Bilingual Education) fellowship recipient at Penn State University.

William has also been active as a member of the Puerto Rico affiliate of T.E.S.O.L. (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) on its Board of Directors on numerous occasions. With Sacred Heart University in Santurce, he has served as an advisor for the P.A.M.I. and Borinquen Writing Projects. Finally he has offered workshops for the T.E.S.O.L. affiliates in Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
